This is a small group of interested parties, including staff and parents, who meet regularly throughout the year to organise fundraising activities or arrange to support the school in other ways e.g. working parties to tidy the garden areas, provide refreshments at Parent’s Evenings etc. Meetings are normally held to coincide with an arranged event such as Film Club, which runs once a term.
Please feel free to come along to one of our meetings.
Easter Bake Off
A great big thank you to everyone that entered the Easter ‘Bake Off’ competition, there were some very creative cakes and it’s clear we have lots of master bakers in our school.
Well done to the winners; Lillie Mae, Ava, Jacob, Ruby, Kienna, Toni, Lewis & Harrison, Chrystal and Holly.
Thank you also to all who bought cakes in our cake sale after school, helping us to raise over £500!
We donated one of the cakes to the residents of Wilbraham House.
The money raised from the cake sale will go towards our continuing improvements to the outdoor areas for our children. Just this week we have installed a new shelter in Key Stage 2 playground, a bike shed in the nursery garden and improvements have begun to the shelter in the Key stay 1 outdoor area.
The children in Nursery and Reception made a beautiful card for the Friends of Ravensmead to say thank you for their new bike shed.
On Thursday 1st December, Friends of Ravensmead held their annual Christmas Fayre. There were a range of stalls selling various Christmas items and gifts, as well as refreshments, a raffle, tombola and various competitions.
Santa’s grotto was very popular with many children visiting him and the choir performed a range of Christmas songs on the stage to entertain a huge audience.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas Fayre, with your support we have raised nearly £1000.
New outdoor equipment
Last school year, Friends of Ravensmead raised enough money to buy some fantastic outdoor equipment.
We now have an astro turf (artificial grass) area for the children in Foundation Stage and KS1.
In KS2 we have installed a net which stretches right across the playground, creating a safety barrier between ball games.
Thank you to all who have supported us with our fund raising this year and a great big thank you to all our kind volunteers who came to give our new benches a lick of paint on a sunny Friday afternoon in May. These are the first of our purchases to create a new more exciting outdoor space for our/your children.
