Ravensmead Roving Reporters

Monday 27th November

As you can see from the photos, we have been working very hard on the Christmas play. We have made lots of props – like this game cover that James made. We made giant playing cards for a scene and we hope you will thoroughly enjoy it. We have two special helpers in called Mr Smith and Miss Williams, who are doing beautiful painting to make an amazing backdrop for the play. There are lots of songs what you probably haven’t heard of, but there’s also Silent Night which we would like you to sing along to. Our performance is on 12th & 13th December 2017. Hope you can come along.

Monday 6th November

Meet our marvellous Ravensmead football team; Billy, Frank, Harley, Oscar, Jake, George, Ewan, Taylor, Jimmy & Fin.

imageThis is their report from their first tournament of the season.

On Thursday 2nd of November, we took part in the first mini tournament of the season at Chesterton High school. 5 extraordinary matches took place.

First was a close fought battle with Westlands which they eventually won 1-0.

We were in our stride for the second against Churchfield’s which we smashed it with a whopping 2-0, it could have been more!

The next game was a tough one when St John’s came back with a goal. However we kept our heads up and got the winner, 2-1.

In the game against St Margaret’s we were unlucky as it saw us lose to the eventual tournament winners 1-0. It was such a close game.

Finally we played Sun Academy – a tough game which we defended like lions and kept it nil-nil.

Ravensmead were worthy and proud runners-up in our first tournament together – only losing one game to the eventual winners. :)

Here is an interview with Frank who is in the team.

Jake: How do you feel about the first loss?

Frank: Sad because we were on  3 win streak and we only lost 1 to St Margarets.

Harrison: How did the team feel when you scored the first goal of the season?

Frank: It felt good because once you score you’ve basically won since the games are so short.

Jake: Who was the best player?

Frank: All the year 5′s played well since they had never played for Ravensmead before.
