Y3/4 perform with the Hallé Orchestra

On Thursday 22nd June, Mrs Lockett and Mrs Stanyer’s classes joined children from other local schools to perform with the world-famous Hallé Orchestra in front of an audience at the Victoria Hall in Hanley. The children were showing off their musical talents on brass instruments and demonstrating the skills they have learned in their recent music lessons learning to play Cornets, Trumpets and Trombones.

The Hallé’s ‘Come and Play’ concert included versions of Strauss’s Cuckoo Polka and Chuck Rio’s Tequila, which the children had fun playing along with, they also sang two songs and enjoyed listening and watching the orchestra playing.  Everyone was surprised when the Orchestra used fidget spinners to create music, spinning them and tapping out various beats on the stage.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children and was also enjoyed by lots of parents and grandparents who were able to attend.
