Author shares his story with children

On Friday 13th March, Chris Duke, the author of Lucy’s Blue Day visited Ravensmead to share his powerful story with the children in a special assembly. In the story, Lucy’s Hair changes colour according to her mood.

This story can help to start a conversation about feelings with children. Chris talked about the happy and excited feelings as well as acknowledging the sad or angry feelings that we all sometimes have. Teaching the children that it’s ok not to be ok, but that it is important to try to talk about how you feel too so you can understand why you might be feeling that way.
