Diglake disaster commemorations

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Diglake disaster the children have taken part in a range of activities across the school. The School Council attended a memorial service at the Methodist Chapel where they read the names of the 77 boys and men who died.  Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 visited the Chapel on Monday to learn about the disaster from a retired miner and they also had a chance to look at a range of mining artefacts. The children found this an invaluable experience and enjoyed asking lots of questions to add to their knowledge.
